In order for your body to lose weight, you need to eat the correct amount of calories that your body needs. The body needs calories (energy) in order for you to do your daily functions. But your calories are also made up of 3 very important nutrients in order for us to live a healthy life namely;

• Carbohydrates

• Protein

• Fat

Eating more of the above than what your body requires will ultimately lead you to pick up weight. Eating less of the 3 nutrients will ultimately lead your body to lose weight. In order for your body to lose weight successfully, you need to eat 10% less of the correct amount of calories than what your body needs. This will result in you starting to lose weight and because you have now learned to eat correctly, the weight will stay off and you are able to maintain your correct body weight due to your new way of eating.

So what do we at Fat Loss for Life offer our members?

You will join up at one of our agents. You will weigh in once a week at your agent. The agent will take down the following details of you when you weigh in;

• Your weight

• Your Body Fat %

• Your Body Water %

• Your height

This information will then be given through to our health department where you will be assigned to a specific health consultant that will analyse your information and give you feedback on the correct amount of calories and nutrients that your body requires. The health consultant will also determine your correct BMI that you should be.

A correct BMI (Body Mass Index) is between 18 - 25. We are aware that the following part takes a bit of time and effort. If you are serious about losing weight, then you have but no choice to follow the following.

• Complete the daily Food Log Sheet

• Forward this to your dedicated health consultant

• Follow the advice given back relating to the food you have consumed.

You will start to learn what is healthy for your body and what is not. You can either email the sheet or fax it to our offices. It has been proven that members that complete their Food Log Sheet on a daily basis, achieve 100% results in losing weight.

When we analyse your Food Log Sheet, we calculate the various percentages of the 3 nutrients that you are consuming. We are then able to advise you what the various values are of the food items you are consuming in relation to the 3 important nutrients’. As an example a 40 year old women with a height of 1.70m that weighs 75kg needs the following amounts of grams of nutrients per day;

• Carbohydrates – 167g

• Protein – 45g

• Fat – 40g

• Calories – 1200

 Should the person eat 1 200 calories of food for the day, but she consumes 100g of fat in her food and only 110g of Carbohydrates then ultimately she will also not lose weight. The reason is that your body needs only so much of the 3 nutrients and in order for you to lose weight successfully you need to eat correctly.

To add to the above you also need to follow the following important factors that will assist you in losing weight successfully;

1. Drink Water

As you change your eating pattern and do exercise, your body will release toxins. Water is essential to wash the toxins out of your body. Drink at lest 6 to 8 glasses of pure water per day. If you want to be successful with your weight loss strategy, you have to cut out soft drinks, coffee and tea. Rather put a few drops of lemon juice in the water for a little bit of taste.

2. Lifestyle change – Not a “Diet”

See this strategy, program or whatever you want to call it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. Once you have come to understand how your body reacts to certain foods, you will be more careful to eat the “wrong” types of food in the future. It is difficult to sustain a diet, but to change your lifestyle and eating habits permanently;

you need to have a mindset change, and this will have much longer lasting effects on your weight than just a normal diet.

 

3. Never go Hungry

It is important to carry snacks with you, because hunger is one of the major culprits, causing us to eat “wrong” foods when our blood sugar levels drop.

4. Sleep

6 to 8 hours of sleep is very important, because enough sleep will help to restore your bodies’ functions. If you don’t sleep enough, you tend to crave the “wrong” foods during the day and because your body’s function has not been restored properly, it will be tougher to lose weight.
